Consulting-For What Purpose?
Consulting in any organization can be both a blessing and a curse. The reason we say this is because some organizations choose to bring consultants in to identify problems and to facilitate the changes needed to create the paradigm shifts necessary for the solutions. That is a blessing! Other organizations tend to bring consultants in to reinforce a particular doctrine that the board or senior management wants, but they are not interested in the development process to make the shifts possible. That is a curse!
We Often Serve As A Change Agent
We are a consulting firm that works with the former type of organization. Our success lies in our ability to work with the mission, goals, and objectives of a healthcare facility, work with staff to develop an understanding, listen to the staff concerns, and develop a scope of work to facilitate the necessary changes. At times we help our client to clarify its mission, vision, and values.
Within our scope of responsibilities we assume the task of working with managers and supervisors as well as senior staff and boards. We develop the necessary documents to support the changes and develop the educational components to implement them. Since our penchant is not to "throw away the baby with the bath water," we use the Adult Learning Model to facilitate change and develop skills and competencies among supervisors and managers.
Consulting Requires A Collaborative Relationship
We consider consulting and on-site staff development as a collaborative process with our clients. Furthermore, we believe in providing feedback on a regular basis to the senior management team and board. We provide a summary document with all of the process instruments to be used within the organization on a continual basis. All organizations consist of both structure and relationships. We can design the structure that will best fit an organization's mission and develop the staff/enhance the relationships to achieve its objectives and goals.

Unlike many consultants who make a career out of staying in your organization, our approach is to listen with intensity, convert the information into practical programmatic and systemic changes, work with the organization's staff to infuse the changes into the fabric of the organization, make the instruments of change, and leave.
