Infection Control and Barrier Precautions
Since 1993 The Center has provided Infection Control and Barrier Precautions training to over 20,000 physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who must attend this course in order to maintain their license in New York State. The Center has provided this infection control training on-site at many of the major medical centers. Our highly credentialed infection control consulting staff can assist your facility in any aspect of infection control training or program implementation.
Outstanding Staff
For close to a decade The Center has drawn on the expertise of a select group of infection control nurses who manage infection control departments at major healthcare facilities. Our staff has been selected, not only for their professional expertise, but also for their ability to clearly communicate and explain infection control principles, issues, and practices to both professional and support staff.
Consulting And Training
Federal and state regulations and guidelines are constantly being updated. It is often difficult for staff to stay abreast of these changes.
Yet, as licensed professionals, be they physicians or nurses, they are accountable for their professional conduct as it relates to infection control practices. The same accountability is required of your facility.
What can we offer you? We will review your practices with respect to your organization's activities to reduce the risks of endemic and epidemic nosocomial infections in patients and healthcare workers. We will review relevant facility reports generated for quality assurance purposes as well as reports to public health agencies. We will review relevant facility reports generated for quality assurance purposes as well as reports to public health agencies. We will review steps your facility has taken to lower risks and to improve (proportional) rates or (numerical) trends of epidemiologically significant infections. We will review your management systems that support the infection control process.
In addition, we will offer training to all relevant staff members. Sessions designed for physicians and nurses will cover information appropriate to their level of education and professional activities. Similarly, training for housekeeping and food service personnel will be presented at a level that will result in behavior changes that will benefit the facility.
