Clinical Training

The Center has devoted itself for over a quarter of a century to enhancing the managerial competencies of staff, restructuring organizations to deliver improved patient care, and training clinicians to embrace new applications that result in improved clinical outcomes. Patients are now partners in their own care. They must work in conjunction with the clinical provider to define expectations, processes, reactions, and alternative outcomes as a result of the care. Therefore, staff must begin by determining what the patient values, knows, and does not know about both the care and the treatment plan.

Clinicians also need to know how to work administratively in setting priorities, establishing controls, and applying the elements of Best Practices to achieve the optimum clinical results with the highest rate of retention. In the continuous effort to improve clinical care, clinical care staff members need to maintain their skill levels, embrace new information and skills development, apply this knowledge within guidelines, and use monitoring instruments to make certain that they are on course.

Over a decade ago, when all nursing assistants working in nursing homes were required to attend a 100-hour CNA certification course, The Center had the exclusive contract in New York State to design the curriculum for that course and to certify more than 2,200 RNs to teach the course and evaluate and certify the competency of those completing the course.

The Center not only focuses on training related to treatment of physical illnesses but also focuses on issues related to treatment of psychological illnesses. Additionally, we often present workshops that deal with emotional concerns of caregivers such as stress management or handling death and dying.

We make certain that organizations apply professional standards set by professional practices as well as regulatory agencies and that they establish and maintain systems for monitoring clinical outcomes and continuous quality improvement. Our experienced clinical staff is ahead of the curve in knowing what is expected, how to implement the standards, and how to evaluate results. In addition, our staff enters each organization with a fresh and open mind. Each element of our work is designed to meet the needs of each unique client. Whatever your clinical setting-acute, long-term, home, or ambulatory care- we will address your practice issues.
